Windbooster Throttle Controllers are a product that helps alleviate the lag associated with electronic drive-by-wire throttle technology in modern vehicles.
They also allow users to tune their cars throttle ramp-up response to better suit their driving style and driving conditions. And, it is as simple as Plug & Play!
Our controllers operate by inputting new reference, mapping, points into your cars throttle pedal assembly - which is also where they are plugged into or installed. Once installed, the screen will display our data as modes & values and, from there, lets you quickly and easily modify your throttle ramp-up response for either a sharper or damper reaction - depending on what you select! The Windbooster WD is our entry-level throttle controller, designed to give you a taste of our throttle controllers - on a budget!
With the WD controller, we have dialled it back and focused on the essentials by only housing our Performance modes alongside the following features. Four (4) modes to choose from - Normal, P1, P2 and P3.Ten (10) levels of throttle adjustability in P1, P2 and P3. Bar styled blue LED display.

This mode is non-adjustable and reverts the vehicle to its factory-set response, lame and tame. Normal mode is handy when having your vehicle is to be serviced; to help mechanics with a more natural feel of your car.We had one thing on our minds when developing these modes - Speed, we are Speed. P1, P2 and P3, also referred to as Sport, Sport+ and Race mode, help you get more from your car whilst still working within factory parameters - for added peace of mind. These modes achieve this by sharpening your throttle pedals parameters to introduce an enhanced throttle curve - resulting in a sharper and more reactive throttle response the higher the setting.
These three modes have ten levels of responsiveness, so you can find the perfect setting to suit your driving style and conditions. P1 - otherwise known as Sport mode, is excellent for daily driving or perhaps driving around town. Removing throttle input lag and only slightly increasing throttle response throughout its ten levels of sensitivity. P2 - otherwise known as Sport+ mode, introduces a medium where all you needed was just that little sharper reaction for taking off or overtaking. We personally enjoy this mode when going for a more spirited drive or perhaps even a stroll through the mountains - for those winding roads! P3 - otherwise known as Race mode, has nothing besides performance driving and track or race events in mind. P3 will produce the fastest and most reactive throttle response to help get you into your cars optimal power ranger as fast as possible. If you are not smiling already, you will now. This user guide will take you through everything you need to know to install your Windbooster Throttle Controller. Installation is straight forward, but please follow directions carefully. Some vehicles may require you to move the vehicles plastic trims or pedal assembly to install. The pins in the factory accelerator plug can easily be bent which can cause the vehicle to fault so please take care when installing.Locate OEM fly by wire connector, normally located on top of the accelerator assembly. Although in most cases it is possible to fit your Windbooster without removing the accelerator pedal assembly, this may be required for easier fitment. Incorrect alignment of the plug could result in the vehicle going into limp mode and the pedal assembly requiring repair so if you are in doubt, remove the pedal assembly.
Unplug the factory fly-by-wire plug. Plug the Windbooster into the top of the pedal assembly. Plug the fly-by-wire plug into the back of the Windbooster. Locate a suitable place for the control unit to be fitted, please take into account the impact of LED display on the driver's vision during night time driving.
The control unit is affixed to the dash using 3M adhesive tape that is already conveniently affixed to the back of the unit. Surfaces treated with silicon based products will not allow for a secure fitment so please clean surface thoroughly before attempting to mount the control unit. Secure the Windbooster cable out of the way of any moving parts and ensure it will not inhibit the driver's operation of the vehicle's pedal assemblies. If after correct fitment your vehicle has limited or no acceleration and / or dash warning lights become illuminated.
Please remove the windbooster attempt to install it again taking extra care ensuring all plugs are correctly fitted and not damaged. If the problems repeats please contact Windbooster Australia.
